Ashlyn

Ashlyn moved to Tredethick in 2010. Having had a wonderfully rural childhood – filled with ponies, cats, and a pet goat – living on a farm was her idea of bliss.

She’s passed her love of all things rural onto her children who have grown up making plenty of furry and four-legged friends and with a huge enthusiasm for the great outdoors.

A former speech therapist, Ashlyn is passionate about the connection between the countryside, animals, and young children. She loves seeing families having fun together, interacting with the farm animals, experiencing the joys of nature, and enjoying the freedom that comes from being outdoors.

Favourite things to do: Enjoy her beautiful David Austen roses over breakfast and take a relaxing dip at a quiet nearby cove.

Jenny (aka Farmer Jenny)

Originally from South Africa, a gap year in the UK in the early Nineties was enough to convince her to stay for good. And Cornwall is now her home and happy place.

Her special on-the-job skills include providing pedicure services for Seamus the alpaca, training piggies Honey and Crumpet to sit, and teaching newborn lambs how to suckle milk from a bottle.

Favourite things to do: Reading, gardening, cooking, and walking her three miniature sausage dogs, Winnie, Wesley and Willow. Also planning to add paddle boarding to the list.

Liz (‘Liz Pony Whizz’)

Cornish born and bred, Liz grew up in the country and has worked on farms and the land all her life. Passionate about ponies and hugely knowledgeable on all matters equine, Liz looks after our pampered ponies as well as manages our grounds and land.

You’ll see Liz Pony Whizz at our pony grooming and riding sessions. And if you book a Pony Poppets session, you’ll experience her giggle-inducing gymkhana games – the ultimate four-legged fun.

Favourite things to do: Since her beautiful horse, Harley, died at a grand old age, Liz enjoys riding her motorbike aka ‘the Flyin’ Frog’!

John

Having grown up in the southeast, John fell in love with Cornwall and moved here 30 years ago with his wife, Annette.

Our maintenance and garden supremo, it’s John you’ll see if you’ve any issues with your cottage. It’s him who takes the credit for keeping everything in tip-top order. Skilled in house building and maintenance as well as planting and growing, John also built Tilly the Play Tractor, the farm-themed bike track and play features along the farm trail.

Favourite things to do: Swimming Lake District tarns and sunny stretches of coast here in Cornwall.
